Mark White is the Advisory Team Member of Ascension and joined Bob’s mission in 2022 as one of the founders.  Mark’s focus in his role at Ascension is actively driving and supporting top-line revenue generation activities across the organization and managing the partnership investment process with Bob Hogan and other Ascension executives and advisors.

Mark’s career in wealth management started in 1983 when he was asked by a family friend (and then head of the Lorain County Bank (OH) Trust Division), what he wanted to do when he finished college studies. Mark’s reply was “Investment banking”.  Well, you must start somewhere and as a trust operations clerk Mark certainly saw “investment banking” at its core. Not exactly what he thought “investment banking” might be, but an excellent foundational role in a business he grew to love from the start.  Fast forward 40 years of hands-on experience in the wealth space and material career stints as a sales/business development leader at publicly traded wealth technology firms such as SunGard, Metavante, FIS and SE.  Then add to that a few start-ups and exits (3 to be exact) and you have a seasoned executive with a very steady hand on the wheel with the depth of experience required to navigate the waters ahead of Ascension as the business grows and the operating model becomes more complex.

Mark studied Banking and Finance through the American Banker program at Lorain Community College while working full time at Lorain County Bank and attended Pfeiffer University (Charlotte center) after being recruited in 1985 to join a fledgling division of a pre-public Sun Data Systems (SunGard).

Mark and his wife Melissa have been married for 28 years. They have 3 children (young ladies) each in various stages of completing their college education(s).  Like Bob, Mark and Melissa were active girls’ lacrosse program supporters when their girls played junior and HS level LAX.  Melissa ran her own business in Atlanta for 10 years and recently rejoined the H.S. teacher ranks where she instructs young adults in Business at an award-winning local Marietta, GA high school. Outside of business pursuits, Mark’s passion involves running/fitness, woodworking, wooden boats, old motorcycles/cars along with scuba adventures with Melissa and the girls as time permits.
